Mugs For Jugs

October 2nd, 2008

The Mugs For Jugs event benefiting the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Cure Foundation And All You Can Eat 24 hr Diner was this past weekend at the Ship and Anchor Pub in Sandy Springs. Lots of live music, and we had a great crowd come out to support the whole deal. from what I hear, they raised over $1,500, so that’s a good thing.

I took some pics at this anti-cancer fund raiser, and I’ve got my thought on the whole gig after the jump. But for now, the pics:

Just Saying Hi

Hi GNG,

Your online bank draft system rarely works, and I hate having to call an 800 number to pay my bill. When do you plan on bring back online credit card payments? Even with the fee, it was worth it to not have to deal with a buggy system or have to waste 10 minutes on the phone. And while we’re on the subject of fees, I’m wondering why Marietta Power can accept credit cards with out tacking on a $5 “thank you for paying your bill on time” fee.

So, how about you look into it, and let us know when we can expect our gas company to catch up to the rest of the world in respect to online payment processing. If you need help getting a payment system running, I’m sure there are one or two companies around the Atlanta area that could be of service. Hell, I’ll even make some phone calls for you and track down a nice tech firm that I’m sure would be more than happy to knock this right out for you.

Call me some time. We’ll chat.

Thanks
-kw

Happy Birthday, Kevin! Now, Hurry Up Before We Have to Pay For Another Hour

December 6th, 2007

There are few things so universal as birthdays. With the exception of aborted feti (is that the plural of fetus, JZ) and clones, we all get to enjoy the pleasure of marking our continued progress to the grave. And this, my 27th birthday has been no exception.

I’ve had celebrations and happy moments in many places, but folks, if you’ve never had a parking garage birthday, you should. I recommend the garage at Atlantic Station. I had amazing chance to stand behind a cranked mini-van, opening my unwrapped presents as frigid air and car exhaust filled my lungs. But what made this truly special was how my mom, the ever budget-conscious hunter for bargains and deals, found a great way to say ‘Happy Birthday, son’ on a shoe string. Read the rest of this entry »
